The Avenger - Chapter 29. Orlamünde - Rose among thorns

A chapter frustrating, I wanted to advance, to write, I knew what it was to contain and yet I would have taken longer. I wrote once but I was not happy with the result, I rewrote part. Finally I restarted from the beginning that do that inspire me in previous versions.
Anyway I am still not happy with the result, far from it but I can not wait to move, therefore I leave the state to come back later.

Music inspiration: None really although Mauerbrecher - October Leaves allowed me to redo a start a bit more consistent.

Chapter XXIX. Orlamünde - Rose among thorns

It's not so much for the Burgan she was there on horseback crossing the high northern mountains. The scenery was breathtaking. Elichzäne they called them the "gods of teeth," she had never seen mountains so slender, so impenetrable. This was nothing like the mountains surrounding the capital region of Kingdoms. She wondered for the hundredth time if she had reason to come. But it was not for the Burgan and their quest fantasy that was there. No, she needed to know. Saints really existed? Could she understand what it was? Would she find rest there?

his father's men had arrived the day after the enemy retired. A long column that was passing in the distance. A detachment was shifted to the city and was greeted as a liberator by a population that was just beginning to understand that the siege was finally over. She saluted the wit of his father who turned the situation to his advantage, his army entered the city without a single fight and cheered again. The advisers were biting Pylos bloods at the time it was. It was however a twinge in my heart to see that in the end his movement was probably more political than sentimental. He is a man with dark mustache and harnessed for the war that came to honor him. His plate armor echoed in places such aggression and felt Orlamünde the visit as such, without knowing why.
The man knelt before her, and hardly helped by a squire who made the act more ridiculous than ceremony. John, his captain, remained now ready with her and had agreed to provide a bodyguard. She did not know what he thought about what had happened during the negotiations, he disagreed? He did not let it show in any case.
- Captain Gerome to serve you your highness. Gen. Mark apologizes but the annihilation of the invaders seemed a priority.
- Raise your Captain.
- Thank you, your highness. The whole kingdom is relieved to know that you alive. Lord the king has expressed a desire to see you back as soon as possible if it suits you of course. Until then I am responsible for your safety.
- It's very kind of you master, I present the master John, who is already responsible for my safety and that has more than proven itself as all his men.

She knew that man would not appreciate it but insisted that the militia of the city will receive the honors due to them. She felt a mounting resentment against the man who had done nothing. These men arrived in triumph as they had done nothing to save the city. They were now enjoying the jubilation, drink, party and rewrite history. How many people here that they will remember the heat of battle, only the walls and the militia had prevented City of Falling?
The man did not dare contradict him, a mere captain could not afford it.
- A detachment will remain at your disposal in this case.
- Keeping you dine with me tonight, Captain?

She needed to know what was happening, his father did he expect that it leaves in its claws Pylos and returned the country to regain daughter to marry?
- Alas, your highness, it is impossible. Y 'it so much to prepare for restoring order in the city and organize assistance for the poor.
She saw John but his fists tighten face never betrays.
- Captain Jean is here this shoe a pleasure to guide you in this unknown city. I am sure he will find room for your men until their departure.
- We already took our quarters in the garrison.
- Oh? And the militia?
John could not refrain from intervention.
- With all due respect Captain John, they are only civilians who have received military training summary. Our troops are much better qualified to defend the city. - Against whom? You? Orlamünde intervened.
- Sure that not your highness but the campaign is not freed of aggressors and the latest news liudmarkiens Telon Varest and are still in their hands.
- Know that I will not tolerate extortion of your troops and Pylos is and will remain a free cities that want what my father.
- We are here to ensure your safety princess.

She had yet hard to believe. The events gave him reason.
His actions have cost the lives of several counselor they were afraid to come see it and believed responsible for the takeover of the kingdoms of the South. The news of the defeat Liudmarkienne, they arrived after a week leading to other manifestations of joy and gratitude to the men of the South. Jean
furious but she could hardly do anything. She had summoned the captain Gerome but it was a pretext schedule too busy to visit him while giving it his unwavering loyalty.
She had lost the battle even before the delivery and she realized she still had much to learn. His father had been right to say it should have to pay attention to his surroundings at the time, at a political level all was played before negotiating. His
became gloomy mood, she felt lonely and wondered why she was not returning home. One morning she looked out the window and studied the city under his feet. The cobblestone streets descended steeply to the port and the slums. Pylos were so steep they said that if we stumble we found the gate of the city faster than walking.
She smiled, she liked this city near the Synd, boat was not far from the sea and the mountain was also nearby, there was live, the heat was less oppressive than in the south. The plain was dotted with olive trees around the trunk lean and tortured.
She then realized that here was his home. Here she became an adult. He needed to find a way to release the grip of his father on the city.

Yet it had all seemed so futile the first time she had seen. He came together with leaders and General Mark Burgan. A very motley troupe who had been cheered by the crowd. Burgan each man appeared and acted as interpreter. Guylhom, she liked the sound of the name. For the first time in a long Orlamünde felt something in his heart. The man had been disfigured and yet she could still see his face so serene, serious but with eyes that sparkled. She realized that it was somewhere like it, touched by the Saints.
She had enormous difficulties to not fix it during the interview, she drank in his words, hypnotized by his double face torture. The Burgan also was a source of wonder, between the giant blond covered scar, the little half-naked woman, the child with dark skin and large muscular neck as big as a tree trunk it was certain that something was happening here who had never before happened before. Gen. Mark's eyes were coming out of the head as he listened to the fantastic story of their guests on their divine mission, but she only smiled.
She no longer saw the scars Guylhom, he spoke well, was an educated man and she saw that he chose his words carefully. The idea of starting with them in the north to stop Aelor however, was troubling. She did not doubt it could be useful in such an undertaking but here Aelor was seen as a benefactor, a man who had left, promising wonders to the people. The end of the yoke of the gods, the end external threats. Its absence during the war did not even seem to have tarnished his image. People commonly speak of time in the street where Aelor return with their husbands and son. She wondered if somewhere he had not also been instrumental in the victory, giving hope to a people facing the enemy.
Chief Burgan, a Arnulf then asked him a question that brought a lot of people in trouble, Guylhom the first since he had to translate.
- Uh ... the chief of the tribe of lions demand finally is delicate, saying he would like to know ... Well, he wants to be sure you're still a virgin.
At the time, the tone was assembled all the men were insurgents, ready to defend his honor. She would almost laughed. Nobody knew where she had gone for a year, she reappeared a year later as a private nurse and all assumed she was still a virgin. She was almost tempted to say no to annoy them, after all it was he had little more than she does and she did not know why Devian was considered normal to rape her but not take her virginity. This memory showered her good mood.
- I do not see how it looks. she said, coldly. But yes I still am.
- He says he understands that you need to keep up appearances but you beseech if this is not the case tell him. The prophecy speaks of the virgin bloody, it is vital to the success of the quest you're the right person.

- If he does not know himself how I should I know?
- no offense, I think you are pretty sure to be the right person.
- You know I ask something in return.
- Ah. I thought saving the world would be a sufficient reward. She smiled

corner by saying that the man was perhaps a little too experienced with the wild but it was not serious, she was already tired of the round legs and bowing.
- Ensure the independence of the Free Cities and we leave tomorrow.
- Princess, I think all this has gone too far and that ...
- General Mark Silence. I express myself.
- Complete your part of the contract and you will be liable Burgan.

General Mark complexion was slightly green when he took leave.

In the end, if it had not gone wrong, the journey was pleasant, the summer was there, the time clement Burganne welcomed them into the ground and had planted quite a thorn in the side of his father. If he let his troops and the occupation of formalized Free Cities he might have to fight the Burgan on his return when he retired he could pass for a king and merciful benefactor but have always failed to achieve its grip on the roads of steel. She breathed deeply, the air was so pure here.
Guylhom came and asked permission to ride with her.
They spent quality time together and Orlamünde almost forgot the reason for their trip.
She eagerly accepted, the man seemed to have missed a lot of company and told his adventures, he had a soft voice and warm. She wondered if he realized that he liked? She laughed stupidly, since when had she done it? It had the effect of a little girl again and decided to take this moment and listen to the story of his knighthood.
- I left the men Palys and confident we approached these same mountains where ...

The Avenger - Chapter 28. Saymar - Anna

A chapter very full, I am aware. There is a lot to and that there was still a long way to go Saymar, yet I preferred to finish a chapter denser than hanging out in a new cycle length. In the end little about the main plot in this chapter, but a link between those above and those to come. Remains found the duality of good Saymar and then he was also entitled to a moment of happiness.

Chapter XXVIII. Saymar - Anna

Saymar withdrew his knife from the boy's throat and tried against his tabard. So young, what he did not care where this stupid? He proceeded to cut her finger to get a ring, he had already picked up a dozen, all identical to those soldiers. He wondered how the soldiers could afford such jewelry. Laura went
:
- What are you doing?
- I pick up the beads, these rings must be worth a fortune.
- There is more thieves you know.
Saymar looked for a moment, decided he did not see what he could find him in time.
- Yeah, well like I have nothing else to fuck the day I will still continue.
She shrugged and went went. They all enervated as they were. Always picky, but yes it, but not that and blah blah blah my ass is pink. Only Anna, came to make him feel calm and serene, she understood it, or at least it was like this.
He continued to make his harvest when Burgan arrived on the battlefield to pick up their dead. " mucha have a long time! . The tribe of women, the Panthers if he remembered correctly, had morflé but losses were huge on both sides. Saymar still wondered what was the interest of fighting naked when he looked at the number women's bodies (and not ugly and more) which lay there. He recognized some of them were visiting the camp.
He spat in disgust so many died for nothing. In the end the Burgan were not so wild as that, they were just different. The liudmarkiens had very nearly surprised them with the mist. They had been warned that an hour before their arrival. The men's leader, the lions had to absorb the initial charge with no real preparation. Snakes and panthers were the only other tribes present. The others were still on the road across the river but from the False first echoes, they had to fight too. Still, it is still the other comb ass knight who had come to seek the help Burgan. Saymar initially refused but everyone else had agreed warmly, eager to show their values. They clutched their weapons and ran to join the fray. The other nobliau was swollen, he had refused to fight fellow countrymen, saying that his presence alone would be enough to stop the fighting. Saymar would have kicked his ass for him to go alone in front. Finally they were gone, and the confrontation had turned into a massacre.

Panthers Women wearing white shawls covering their hair and shoulders. They had painted tears on their faces. He saw a head support Burgan who watched the mass of bodies. This idiot had insisted to fight when he was clearly unfit after his little demonstration the previous week. All as mad as each other to go after death. He cut the last finger and put the ring in his pocket after searching the pockets of the corpse mechanically. It would take much hanging a good one tonight anyway Anna sulked because he had refused to take it part in the fighting, she had gone of course but still wanted him for wanting to protect her. " Bah! .
- S.. Saymar?
A body moving near him, held out a hand. The guy had a nasty head wound and put a Saymar Pilton time to recognize him under the blood stain the face.
He squatted hastily
- Frérot? Eh beh, you've done well messed up. You want me to go for help? He gently tata skull, an injury ugly, Pilton had lost one eye may be but it would survive.
- Aaah. Stop. My brother ...
- Yes?

Pilton continued his sentence without addressing anyone in particular.
- ... is ... is ... dead at ten ... ten fucking years.
Saymar thought for a moment, he was delirious Pilton or he was trying to explain something? The latter closed his eyes for a moment, sucking air greedily as if gathering his forces.
- Why all this masquerade brother then?
- I ... I was lost. I knew what to do anymore, they ... they all wanted something. I was so tired. Tired. You looked nice and then you were ... in the shit.

Saymar laughs.
- It is clear that I was up to his neck, you got me out of a famous mess and worry you'll get out of it. he says, patting his shoulder, ready to get up to fetch help.
- ... but you're just junk. If I had known.
Saymar stopped his gesture, his eyes went cold and he put his hand to his dagger.
- You know what you're saying, bro. You've taken a nasty blow, tomorrow you will have forgotten all that.
- No ... no. Pilton sobbing now. We must prevent them. We must tell them that you're not a hero.
Saymar had a hard time understanding among all those tears but still he wondered if the man had become completely delusional or con. He could get out, his injury did not seem fatal, why threaten it? It was really the last thing to do.
- Sleep bro, I'll be fine.
He gently thrust the dagger into the lower back, slowly slide the blade between two vertebrae, almost lovingly.
- Good night bro, glad to have met you. He
rose and felt a lump in his throat. Decidedly, he really needed a drink.

The next day, the scouts announced the arrival of a second army, the motion for battle Saymar awake and hungover. The Burgan were all still gathered to mourn, most face was drawn and eyes downcast. The knight machine arrives, looking dapper despite the scars that barred his face. He was so proud of her new horse. He saluted him, fixing his eyes milky, how kind he was to see. Saymar shuddered. I do not think we should worry, they are men of the kingdoms South Liudmarkiens not. They were also likely to pursue them. With the consent of Arnulf, I intend to carry me to meet them with a delegation, you are?
Saymar looked prohibited:
- To fuck what?
- Because you are perhaps the only one here to avoid another bloodbath?
- Why you are not you went yesterday, see Liudmarkiens?
- A little voice told me to do anything with it.

Saymar stared at him a moment whether this was an attempt at humor or sheer madness. "Terah this guy! "thought he explains.
- The next time you hear voices, ask me, I knock you down with pleasure.

They were gone so they came under heavy guard in a command tent mounted a hurry. The biggest surprise of the day was to find Commander Mark. The man apparently did not waste any time. Strangely it Saymar welcomed with open arms.
- What a small world! You have succeeded in the Burgan you were going, it's fantastic! I arrive never understand how you fare.
Saymar looked wickedly for a moment, wondering if the man was mocking him.
- Me neither. he answered simply clip without laughing.
The other moron had scoffed Saymar and wondered what game he was playing really.
The negotiations were mainly carried out by Guylhom and deeply bored throughout. After the exchange of good times, the Burgan demanded the right of way to find a "virgin bloody . Mark looked oddly:
- You've heard talked about the princess?
The savage stood up more as soon as he translated the answer, he demanded an interview with it and got angry face of answers Mark polite and prudent. Saymar left. All this looked more.
When the time came to separate, Mark came to see.
- Princess wishes you encounter. When I told him my report, she expressed great interest in these men and women who fought in its name.
- She's here?
- No, it is safe to Pylos, but it was only a week's walk.

Saymar shrugged vaguely answering yes. He later returned to camp.
He passed among some frank commonly installed, the bent knee and hip prominent against a pile of wood. Decidedly some dressed as men posing as prostitutes. He knew that some were talking behind his back, some would not have said no to him by his favors cons did not care, he thought only one.

It was late but Burgan continued their vigil. The instruments were silent but women continued to sing. Sometimes they replied with a serious and plaintive cry that echoed through the valley long after the singing has ceased. He lives
gently light up the night while the funeral pyres were lit. Shades of orange rose to the heavens and began to fight the darkness.
- It's beautiful. Anna joined him, quietly. She was barefoot.
- Yes.
- They agreed that ours are burnt with their warriors. Pilton will be in good company.

She took his hand.
- They are beautiful to walk half naked, they still have more decency than ourselves. When we live by them can not help but respect them. It's sad for them, they have lost much of their past and for not much.
- Sad? You?
- Bah, you know what I mean.
- Why must you be so sweet sometimes? So nice to me and so hard with others?
- I'm not a bully.
he took offense.
- No, indeed. But you know being so remote that I sometimes wonder if you live in the same world as ours.
- I never really wanted to live in this world. Why you go away?
- What?
She laughs. Leave? Where?
- The islands of summer! You and me, let their wars and their gods.
- You're crazy!

Her eyes sparkled that she was beautiful.
- Of course I am! Have you ever dreamed of seeing the sea?
- but of course ... If
- So? Let's get started!
- We can not let others. They depend on us, on you.
- I do not care of others ... I
- I do not.

He swallowed, would he be obliged to tell him? To kneel, to beg in front of her?
- You're one of those heads, it looks like a kid.
His white smile broke out, he saw only himself.
- That's the impression I sometimes meet you I am no longer a kid and I like it.
She looked into his eyes.
- Say me.
- What?
- That you love me.
- Of course I love you.
- Not like that. You really love me?

He hesitated a moment, remembering that night when she told him "you want me , Saymar, more than anything else. I haunt your nights, I'll beat your heart and you're ready to take the risk of dying for me. . He looked around him. There was nothing here for him. The war ended, he would have no home, the worse it might take him a halter for robbery.
- Yes. I love you. I love you more than this fucking life, I prefer to peg out twenty After losing you. You know. Wives me.
She took his hand, the angelic face, her eyes gleaming and stood up on tiptoe to kiss him on the mouth. It also looked like a little girl "he said.
He finally knelt and asked her hand and while everyone was crying it was the happiest of men.

They had all agreed to accompany them, and then free the others that remained. He had thought that the knight was leaving his immaculate dead eyes from their sockets when he announced his departure to marry. The Chief Burgan him once he understood what it returned with laughed and had struck him a slap on the back. It would still have the mark. They walked cheerfully away from fighting. Haytor care of everything now, to scout around among other things, Saymar had not head it. He held Anna's hand and whispered sweet words in his ear and some other crap on it but also made her laugh so much. He loved when she laughed.
He expected that Laura take the bad news, but instead she came to see him with a big smile. " I'm so happy for you boss. You're two earned. And then you must confess something. Haytor and I would also like you to marry. The same day that you would be honored. This big booby too shy to ask you himself. .
Saymar nodded absently. He looked at Anna, pick flowers. Amazing how things can amaze any cons. Each evening, they spent hours talking and kissing. Saymar sometimes tried to go further, reach under his linen shirt but she did not let himself do. She insisted on waiting for marriage and basically that he did not care, just to have near him was enough.
They came to Varest after two good weeks, Liudmarkiennes troops had deserted long before their arrival but were still greeted as a hero. Saymar advantage of this surge of good faith on the part of the people to reap the maximum benefit of its meager resources. All this passed like a dream, time spent at breakneck speed, the days he had marched without printing anything but he knew that he lived fully. The ceremony of marriage cons seemed far too long and are rather simple, they left the next day to the islands of summers and he was moved especially to see Anna in a white satin gown that highlighted her red hair and tanned complexion. Haytor and Laura were married after them and caught himself Saymar even have a larmichette the corner of the eye when they said yes. The wedding night came and he found himself having sweaty palms when they entered the room rented for the occasion. It was decorated with flowers and messages saucy set up by the free care. Anna bit her lower lip when she pulled her dress. He dared not move, some trepidation and tormented him for a moment he wondered if she had not hidden a knife in his back. He could then discover that he was nothing when he stroked the backs of his fingers. She undressed slowly as he discovered her body with his lips and hands. She squirmed and moaned when he touched her crotch. He had never felt anything like this before with any other woman, she was soft and warm, ready for him already but he did take pleasure, delighting in his fingers that feeling like no other. She stretched and stood under his caresses her breasts pointing to his mouth. He chewed the nipples and eventually penetrate it, a little too eagerly, perhaps. It was not a virgin but frankly it would fun. She greeted him with pleasure and they budge in unison. He came to she, too fast for his taste but she learned quickly to bring her into it. He did not know how lasting their antics but he wished they would never cease.
He did not know either what frightened him. She cried for a moment as he took her for the third time. She struggled, he thought at first to a game, holding him by the waist but she looked at him without seeing him and pushed hard, struggling with his feet. She stood up against a table in a panic.
- No!
She looked for a moment, naked and covered in sweat and smell.
- Bastard ! Bastard! You raped me.
- Anna chhut calm down. It's me Saymar. I'm here, I love you.
- You killed him! You killed him! You're a bastard, you laughed, you laughed.

He came close to her and surrounded the shoulders of his arm. He realized that he knew nothing of his past and was not nearly as rosy as it had imagined. He kissed her hair.
- Shhhh. I'll be fine. Everything will be alright. You need time. A frank
had forgotten a pair of scissors on the spot, he had not seen until he feels to stick in her belly and replant them again. He gasped.
He wanted to beg him to say he loved her but the shock prevented him from uttering a word.
- No! No! No! she cried every time.
He had something wrong but it broke. A small voice saying "You beg me to kill you on their knees in exchange for a single night with me. I promise! . He did not beg. No, he did not beg. Why? His head banged
soil and darkness engulfs.
